Going into recruitment at Texas Christian University, I knew I wanted to find sisterhood more than anything. I wanted to find a group of girls that I could laugh with, grow with, and love. I knew the transition into college wouldn’t be easy for me and it was going to be essential to find a group of women to support me and grow with me. Alpha Delta Pi brought me exactly that. I come from a huge, close family, 4 siblings, 2 loving parents, and an identical twin. My twin and I were going to be apart for the first time in our lives, parting ways on different paths to different colleges. I didn’t know what it would be like to not have her by my side through the steps of college.

ADPi supported me every step of the way. Whether it was through sisterhood events, leadership roles, late-night chats in the house, or outside organizations on TCU’s campus, ADPi was prepared to make me into the best version of myself and support me in whatever my needs may have been. I felt heard and encouraged. I learned so quickly that sororities are far more than chants and formals. It’s a sisterhood through and through. I never felt alone. I quickly developed deep and life lasting relationships with my sisters. They made my transition a piece of cake! I will be forever thankful for the impact they had on my freshman year. It was comforting knowing that every older sister in the chapter had been in my position. My Alpha (new member) Class was also experiencing the same transition I was. I could not be more thankful for the support I was given throughout my first year.

Even now, as I go into my junior year at TCU, I still am supported by my sisters. Alpha Delta Pi feels like a home away from home. The women in this chapter feel like my second family. While this upcoming semester is going to be so different for us all, I know that I will be surrounded by an amazing, strong, and courageous woman. I know that this sisterhood can help me make it through any situation. I am so excited to welcome our new Alpha Class this fall, no matter what recruitment looks like. I can wait to introduce another group of young women into our sisterhood. Alpha Delta Pi has changed my life for the better and taught me so many lessons. I can’t wait for more amazing women to learn what it means to be an ADPi and the impact it will have on their lives. Go ADPi! Boom Boom!
